The ancient Hawaiians instilled in their keiki (children) respect and appreciation of nature. Maui's hotels and resorts continue this tradition by offering fun-filled programs with this underlying theme that show youngsters the beauty of Maui. Keiki also learn about Hawaiian culture and the blending of many cultures that make Maui special. The following Maui programs are subject to change and fees may be charged. Reservations should be made a day in advance. As an alternative, most resorts have baby-sitting services available through the concierge.

Resort Quest Kaanapali Shores: Kaanapali Camp Kaanapali Ages 5-12 (children of registered guests); 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday Supervised activities include educational nature walks, Hawaiian crafts, storytelling and hula lessons.

Embassy Vacation Resort, Kaanapali Beach Buddies Ages 5-12; 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Daily Evening Program: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays during Spring, Summer and Winter breaks Activities include lei making, miniature golf, leaf painting, nature walks, bird handling, sand art, coconut designs, T-shirt decorating and swimming in our one-acre ocean-side pool. The program includes lunch and a T-shirt on the first day of participation.

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Kids For All Seasons Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Daily This complimentary guest program includes hula classes, flower lei making, Hawaiian legends and storytelling, arts and crafts, games, kite flying and swimming. Children 12 and over are invited to a complimentary scuba clinic. Evening theme outings include children luau and sea safaris.

Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa, Wailea Camp Grande Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Daily Night Camp: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Daily Workshops: Hours vary Camp Grande offers children and family workshops. Features camp arts and crafts room, Nintendo room, video arcade and much more. Workshops include hula and 'ukulele lessons, lei making, lauhala bracelet weaving and computer graphics T-shirt design.

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa Camp Hyatt Kaanapali Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Daily The greatest adventure your keiki (kids) will ever have. Hop aboard a real Sugar Cane Train, build sandcastles, take an undersea submarine adventure or visit the Maui Ocean Center. Meet native animals face to face on an incredible jungle tour.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel, Kaanapali Aloha Passport For Kids Ages 5-12; Daily Aloha Passport for Kids is a free program of year-round fun for the entire family! All children receive an "Aloha Passport" featuring various "destinations" including Hawaiian activities, shops, and restaurants located throughout the property. At each destination, children receive a gift and a stamp in their passport.

Kaanapali Alii, Kaanapali Alii Kids Club Ages 6-12; 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (tennis only); Monday-Friday All kids under the age of 12 get free membership for registered guests. Activities include tennis, lei making classes, lauhala weaving and visits to the Maui Ocean Center. For information, contact the concierge.

Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas, Kapalua Kamp Kapalua Ages 5-12; Daily Children enjoy sandcastle contests, swimming, snorkeling, Hawaiian crafts, recreational games, hula and eco-adventures.

The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui, Wailea Keiki Lani Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Daily When children join Keiki Lani, they receive a free Keiki Lani T-shirt, lunch and a cool craft to take home. Activities change every day, such as erupting volcanoes by the beach, looking for lizards, sandcastle contests, learning the hula, fruit tasting and much more! Kids can also enjoy their favorite movies.

MANELE BAY HOTEL AND LODGE AT KOELE Pilialoha Children's Program Ages 5-12 Full Day: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Daily Half Day: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Daily Evening Programs: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday & Friday only Build volcanoes, make Hawaiian lei, and go horseback riding. Trek through lush gardens in search of creepy crawlers or catch fish in the koi ponds and waterfalls. Play croquet, "hide and seek," and golfing. Other activities include tidal pool exploration, a scavenger hunt, snorkeling, tennis, marine art and more! Evening activities include an ice cream social and pizza pool party.

Maui Marriott Resort and Ocean Club, Kaanapali Kaanapali Kids Ages 5-12; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Friday This year-round program takes kids on exciting outdoor adventures and allows them to experience Hawaiian activities like learning about Hawaii's marine life, creating Hawaiian arts and crafts, lei making, hula dancing and an unforgettable cruise on a glass-bottom submarine boat.

Maui Prince Hotel, Makena Prince Keiki Club Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Saturday Half day sessions: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Kids from around the world share fun activities such as net fishing, sandcastle building, swimming, Hawaiian arts and crafts, putting, Ping-Pong, shuffleboard, movies and video games. Whale watching in season and scavenger hunts on our spacious grounds.

Molokai Ranch KEIKI CORNER is a special supervised children's program offering an array of fin activities for children including arts and crafts, nature walks, bug hunts, beach activities, radio theatre and paniolo (cowboy) adventures. Ages 4-12.

Napili Kai Beach Resort, Napili Napili Keiki Club Ages 6-12; Two hours except Sunday Offered during Easter, mid-June to late August and Christmas. Activities include Hawaiian games, hula lessons, lei making, parent/child golf putting and nature/ecology walks.

Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort/Destination Resorts Hawaii, Wailea Camp Wailea Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday Kids get their own space at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort! Camp Wailea children's program is a must-do for the resorts youngest guests. The program introduces children to the island with hands-on encounters and fun-filled experiences, including nature hikes, island crafts, hula lessons, coral reef tours, traditional storytelling and whale watching classes in season.

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua The Ritz Kids Ages 3-4 with a parent or nanny Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Daily Children explore Maui art, culture, ecology and nature with activities that are fun and educational. Includes swimming in the pool and beach. Other highlights include a nine-hole putting green and croquet lawn, arts and crafts, games and storytelling.

Sheraton Maui, Kaanapali Keiki Kamp Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Daily Half-day and evening programs are also available This fun-filled program held at our sister property, The Westin Maui, combines Hawaiian history and culture with arts, crafts and games. Build a sandcastle, twist a ti leaf bracelet, lei making and hula lessons, as well as tapa printing, smoothie mixing, sand art and a wildlife tour. Lunch is included and children receive a souvenir T-shirt on the first day of participation. Children are picked up in the hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. and returned at 3:15 p.m.

The Westin Maui, Kaanapali Keiki Kamp Ages 5-12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Daily Half-day and evening programs are also available Hands-on activities include sandcastle building, Hawaiian crafts, water fun, tennis, kite flying, lei making, hula lessons and show, face painting and friendship jewelry making. Lunch is included and children receive a souvenir T-shirt on the first day.
