The
Ritz-Carlton Kapalua will be undergoing a $110 million
transformation beginning on July 2, 2007 and will re-open
January 2008.
 The
AAA Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, located on 54
acres on the island of Maui, will complete a detailed
$110 million transformation by January 2008. The resort
will feature new amenities, enhanced food and beverage
outlets, upgrades and expansion to The Spa, additional
activities for children and teenagers, and 446 fully-renovated
guestrooms including the addition of One and Two-Bedroom
Residential Suites with plasma televisions, kitchens
and deep soaking tubs. Inspired by the natural beauty
of the islands, the hotel will use indigenous materials
in the design such as coconut and sea shell accents
with rich wood grains, area rug designs with patterns
of Hawaiian tattoo motifs with plumeria, and Hawaiian
print artwork framed with koa wood, showcasing culturally
iconic patterns and traditional crafts. Guests of The
Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua will also enjoy a 10,000 square-foot,
three-tiered pool, secluded beach, Environmental Education
Center, tennis courts, the Club Lounge, 9-hole putting
green, and two championship golf courses.
